Retail store fire suppressed by installed sprinklers (Cambridge, ON)

An electronics retailer had a fire break out, and local firefighters were alerted at about 1:30 a.m. on Monday. The facility's fire sprinklers suppressed the majority of the flames. Cambridge fire officials believe the fire was started by a faulty extension cord. There were no reported injuries.

College fire extinguished by sprinkler system (Red Wing, MN)

A late night fire the morning of Saturday, March 29 at a technical college, called the attention of fire crews. Though they arrived within seven minutes of their call, fire crews found the the building's fire sprinklers had effectively put out the flames. 

According to the Red Wing Fire Department, "The presence of a working sprinkler system and alarm system made what may have been a tragedy into a moderate inconvenience."

No injuries were reported.

Sprinklers limit damage at tire distribution business (Chambersburg, PA)

No injuries occurred from a fire at a tire distribution facility on Saturday afternoon. An employee smelled smoke coming from a stack of tires that were placed floor to ceiling, and he called fire crews to the scene.

"The fire triggered the sprinkler system and did what it was designed to do," Chambersburg Fire Department Captain Tim Ebersole said. He does not believe that work will be suspended at the business.

Fire sprinklers keep fire from spreading at manufacturing plant (Paris, IL)

A lighting manufacturing plant had a fire break out early Sunday morning. The fire sprinkler system operated, keeping the fire to one area. All of the employees were able to evacuate the plant safely. 

Paris Fire Chief Brian Gates said of the incident, "The sprinkler system worked and contained the fire."

Early Monday morning, a fire was reported at a bowling alley; fire crews arrived to find that the fire behind the pin racking machine. While the exact cause of the fire remains under investigation, fire crews agree that the facility's fire sprinkler system helped to quickly eliminate the flames. No injuries were reported.

Manufacturing plant fire eliminated thanks to fire sprinklers (Seymour, IN)

No one was injured in a fire that broke out at an automobile parts manufacturing plant on Monday night. Fire sprinklers limit damage and save lives at refinery fire (Sidney, WA)

A fire broke out on the second floor of a refinery on Monday evening. Multiple sprinkler heads were activated by the fire, which kept the fire from spreading. The refinery sustained minimal damage, and all personnel were able to evacuate from the area safely. The fire's cause remains under investigation.

Warehouse fire controlled by sprinkler (Portsmouth, VA)

When a fire ripped through a warehouse on Tuesday evening, firefighters had to use saws to cut through the metal doors and as well as combat other obstacles as the warehouse had undergone several different remodels in order to accommodate the different businesses it has housed over the years. Fire crews discovered the the flames had been contained to a single area in the warehouse thanks to the building's fire sprinklers and were able to put the rest of the fire out. The fire, while under investigation, does not appear to be suspicious. No injuries were reported.

On Thursday, March 6, a fire ripped through the third floor of a vacant building after a stint of vandalism. A single sprinkler head activated and extinguished the blaze. Burlington police and K-9 teams came to the scene, but they did not find a suspect.

A department store had a fire break out in an office early Wednesday morning, and the Bakersfield Fire Department responded to the incident. Just after midnight on Saturday, March 1, a fire began in an apartment building. The heat from the fire activated the fire sprinklers, which extinguished the blaze. Investigators have found the the fire was intentionally set, and the room in which it began was vandalized. No one was injured according to reports.

Fire sprinklers extinguished a fire that began in a high rise apartment the morning of Sunday, March 2. Just before 2 a.m., fire crews responded to a fire alarm activation at the building, and when they arrived, they found that the fire, which had begun in the laundry room, had already been extinguished by the fire sprinkler in the room. Investigators believe the fire was caused by oily rags, which spontaneously combusted. There were no injuries reported.

Officials report that a fire in an unattended apartment unit the morning of February 28 is being blamed on the dryer vent hose. Even though the dryer was not being used at the time of the fire, it had recently been used. After the fire began, the fire sprinkler activated and eliminated the fire completely before fire crews arrived to the scene. No injuries were reported.

A West Valley business was saved by its sprinkler system after the building caught fire early Sunday morning. Fire crews from several cities responded the fire at Party Rental near Thunderbird and El Mirage roads. Firefighters saw smoke coming from the building but the fire had mostly been extinguished by the sprinklers when they arrived on scene."These people will be able to occupy their business Monday morning," El Mirage Fire Chief Howard Munding said. "If there was a fire without a sprinkler, these people would be out of business."A burning candle was identified as the cause of the fire.

Suspicious apartment fire put out by sprinkler system (North Bay, ON)

A flaming object that was thrown down the garbage chute of an apartment on Thursday night at about 10 p.m. The sprinkler system activated and put out the fire, and police report that thanks to the fire sprinkler, there was no damage to the building. This is the fourth time that a fire has started for similar reasons in this apartment building.
