Fire sprinklers contained a kitchen fire in an apartment building on Friday afternoon. Residents were able to evacuate safely, and no injuries were reported.

Senior center fire eliminated by sprinklers (Henderson, TX)

 A fire began on the third floor of a senior living center overnight on Saturday. The responding fire crews reported that the fire was put out by the building's fire sprinkler system. All of the residents were able to evacuate the premises safely.

Damage minimized at manufacturing facility (Denison, TX)

A manufacturing facility fire on Tuesday morning is being investigated as suspicious. When fire crews responded to the fire at approximately 5 a.m., they found that the door to the building was open and smoke was pouring out of the facility. The building's fire sprinkler had been activated when they arrived as well.

"[The fire sprinklers] actually saved the building itself," Denison Fire Chief Bill Ray said. "You would have a little water on the floor, but there wasn't a lot of damage to the products. They were able to get back in and start working at noon because they had a sprinkler system."

No injuries were reported.

Fire contained by sprinkler system at hotel (Colorado Springs, CO)

The fire which erupted in a hotel on Tuesday at around 9 a.m. was under control by 9:30 a.m., thanks in part to the hotel's fire sprinkler system. Hotel guests were able to evacuate safely, and no injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Sprinklers keep fire from spreading at vacant building (Cincinnati, OH)

A fire began around midnight Wednesday morning near an air conditioning unit on the fifth floor of a vacant building. 76 firefighters responded to the fire, and these responders, in addition to the sprinkler system were able to control the fire. No injuries were reported, and the fire's cause is undetermined.

Sprinklers halt apartment fire (West Dennis, MA)

A mid-morning grease fire began in an apartment building on Sunday morning, and the complex's fire sprinkler quickly extinguished the blaze. The resident's were able to evacuate safely and without injury. Assistant Fire Chief John Donlan contrasted this incident with a fire two weeks earlier in an apartment that was not equipped with fire sprinklers; that fire sent 11 residents people to the hospital and caused hundreds of thousands of dollars in damage.

Apartment fire contained by sprinkler system (Murfreesboro, TN)

At approximately 5:15 on Saturday morning, fire and rescue crews responded to a fire at an apartment complex. The sprinkler system in the building controlled the fire, and fire crews extinguished the remaining flames. The cause of the fire appears to be accidental, but officials are investigating the case further. There were no injuries reported.

Office building fire extinguished with help from sprinkler (New York City, NY)

An office building was evacuated safely after a fire was reported in it on Monday. Fire crews responded to the call shortly after being notified.

A representative for the Official Fire Department City of New York said, "(The fire was) extinguished, largely by the building's sprinkler system."

High rise fire eliminated thanks to fire sprinklers (Pittsburgh, PA)

A fire began on the 18th floor of a high rise office building on Wednesday at about 6:35 p.m. The fire sprinkler activated in the office where the fire began and confined the flames to that area until fire crews responded. The cause of the fire was a switch in the heating unit, and no injuries were reported.

Manufacturing facility fire halted by sprinkler system (Lombard, IL)

A metal fabrication facility had a fire occur early Wednesday, June 11. No employees were present when the fire occurred, but the building was equipped with fire sprinklers, which contained the fire.

Assistant Fire Chief Jerry Howell said about the incident, "Basically the sprinkler system kept it in check. It could have been much worse."

Investigating units are still determining the cause of the fire, but initial investigation shows the fire does not appear to be suspicious. No injuries were reported.

Sprinklers make the difference in arson incident at jewelry store (Fresno, CA)

On Tuesday, June 3, a fire was intentionally set in the basement of a building that housed a jewelry store. Arriving firefighters found that three fires had been started and extinguished by the building's fire sprinkler system; the gas line had also been cut. Fresno Fire Department Koby Johns said that it was very fortunate that the building was equipped with a fire sprinkler system. 

No injuries were reported.

Sprinklers help save lives and property at distribution facility fire (Lima, OH)

A fire on the roof of a warehouse was reported shortly after midnight on Saturday. With the assistance of the facility's fire sprinkler, firefighters were able to extinguish the flames within 20 minutes. All of the employees present were able to evacuate safely, and no firefighters were injured. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Golf club fire halted by sprinkler system (Kelowna, BC)

At around 3:40 a.m. on Saturday, fire crews were alerted to a fire at a golf club pro shop. When they arrived, they discovered a fire burning on the outside of the building. According to investigators, the cause of the fire appears to be an improperly disposed cigarette. The facility's fire sprinkler system had contained the fire to the building's exterior, and no injuries were reported.

Sprinklers saves lives and property in high school firel (Owatonna, MN)

Staff and students at a high school were evacuated when a fire broke out on Wednesday afternoon. The fire began around 12:30 p.m. in the school's auditorium, and when fire crews responded to the scene, they found that the fire had been contained to the stage area. 

"Sprinkler systems are huge," Owatonna Fire Chief Mike Johnson said. "In this case, the sprinkler saved the school."

The state marshal is investigating the fire's cause; no one was injured in the incident.

Senior living facility fire contained by sprinklers (Towson, MD)

Shortly before 7:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 4, a fire began in the kitchen of one of the unit's of a high rise senior living facility. When fire crews arrived, they found heavy smoke on the fourth, fifth, and sixth floor, but the fire itself had been controlled by the room's fire sprinkler. Firefighters were able to put out the fire within 20 minutes. There were no injuries reported.

No one was injured in a fire that began in a residential building on Monday shortly after 5 a.m. The structure's fire sprinkler system activated, helping firefighters to quickly eliminate the fire on the building's second floor. Investigators are working to determine the cause of the fire.

Manufacturing fire controlled by sprinklers (Kelowna, BC)

After midnight on Thursday, a fire was reported in the attic space of a manufacturing facility. Upon entering the building, fire crews found that most of the fire had been put out by the facility's fire sprinkler system. Firefighters put out the rest of the fire. 

The cause of the fire remains under investigation; no injuries were reported.

Restaurant fire kept in check by sprinkler system (Fairbanks, AK)

A fire that began at a restaurant early Thursday morning was contained thanks to the building's fire sprinkler. The Fairbanks Fire Department was notified of a fire at 5:50 a.m., and when they arrived, they found that the fire was kept at the point of ignition thanks to the fire sprinkler system.

"The sprinkler system basically saved the day," Fire Chief Ernie Misewicz said. "It kept the fire in check in the front portion of the dining room."

The fire's cause was from someone improperly disposing smoking materials in a flower pot in the front of the building. There were no injuries reported.

"Had the sprinkler system not activated, there would have been significant damage to the building," Misewicz said.

Sprinklers help to keep fire from spreading at corporate building (Tampa, FL)

A fire began in the back of an office building the week of May 25, and firefighters were alerted and responded to the fire. The employees had evacuated safely, and the fire sprinklers and fire crews were able to put out the flames. The cause of the fire is under investigation, and no injuries were reported.
