Apartment fire halted by sprinkler system (Wilmington, NC)

When a fire began on the balcony of an apartment late Thursday night, the unit's fire sprinkler activated, which kept the fire from spreading into the apartment unit. There were no injuries or residents displaced from the fire, and the cause of the fire was an improperly disposed cigarette.
