Sprinklers eliminate fire at office building (Stamford, CT)

At 7:45 on Tuesday, April 29, an explosion and fire were reported at an office building. The fire, which investigators report as being electrical, was located in the utility room on the building's second floor. A sprinkler near the area quickly suppressed the flames. No injuries were reported.

Sprinkler system aids firefighters at restaurant fire (Longmont, CO)

Police were alerted to the reports of an intrusion alarm being activated at a restaurant shortly before 4 a.m. Wednesday, April 30. Just before 4 p.m. on Sunday, April 27, an automobile dealership reported a fire that began in the shop area. While the exact cause of the fire is under investigation, witnesses are crediting the dealership's fire sprinkler system with putting out the flames. There were no injuries reported in the incident.

When firefighters arrived in response to a commercial building fire around 11 p.m. on Saturday, they found that the building's doors and windows had been broken out. The fire sprinkler system had activated and put the fire out. Investigations show that the fire was set intentionally; no injuries were reported.
