Apartment fire halted by fire sprinkler system (Oro Valley, AZ)

A fire that began on the third floor of an apartment building Wednesday night was brought under control by the unit's fire sprinkler before fire crews arrived.
 
Golder Ranch Fire Chief Randy Karrer said, "It is incidents such as these that highlight the importance of sprinkler systems in multi-family dwellings. Without them, the fire could have quickly spread to other units, causing greater damage and an increased threat to lives of the residents."
