Shopping mall fire controlled by single fire sprinkler (Eureka, CA)
Just before 8:00 a.m. today Humboldt Bay Fire responded a
single engine to a reported fire alarm activation at the Bayshore Mall at 3300
Broadway. Fire personnel searched the area and located a small fire that had
been extinguished by a single fire sprinkler head in the back office of the
"Gianni For Men" store. The damage in the office and
store was minimal because of the activation of the sprinkler system and early notification
of the fire department. The cause of the fire is under investigation but appears tobe accidental at this time. The Bayshore Mall is open with no interruption toservice.

It's great to know that a sprinkler system can save lives. I love hearing stories like this because it shoes that a sprinkler does and can make a difference. I hope they are able to figure out what the cause of the fire was. http://www.arksprinklerandlandscape.com
